Sheriff Brad Cole and several members of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office had the honor of welcoming a new class of participants for the annual Citizens’ Academy. During this introduction class, participants not only met Sheriff Cole, but many division directors and other staff from the office. During this time, citizens had a chance to interact with each speaker and learn more about specific topics and roles within the office that are needed to keep our community safe. After opening night, citizens will spend four Saturdays in August actively engaged with trainers, investigators, deputies, and others. During these classes citizens will learn what it takes to be a member of the Sheriff’s Office. Participants will conduct building searches, learn evasive vehicle maneuvers, and take part in other practical exercises prior to graduating from the academy.
This year’s application process is closed. However, look for Citizens’ Academy 2023 next summer.
