Jail Division – General Information

The Jail Division is responsible for the care, custody, control, and transportation of detainees in the Christian County Detention Center.  It is overseen by a Captain, who is designated Division Commander, an Assistant Jail Commander, and three Sergeants. The jail is staffed with P.O.S.T. certified Deputies, Corrections Officers, Transport Deputies, medical staff, administrative assistants, and contracted food service.  CCSO Jail staff are required to attend year-round training. On average, we book in over 2,853 people per year.  The Christian County Jail currently houses detainees from all county municipalities and state law-enforcement agencies.  Detainees are offered educational programs, commissary, and means of communication.  For more detailed information, please visit our other jail webpages.

Captain Darren Whisnant oversees the daily operations of the jail. To contact Captain Whisnant, please call (417) 582-5336 or email here.
