Christmas Message from Sheriff Cole

Christmas Message from Sheriff Cole

Dec 22, 2017

As 2017 is coming to an end, I want the citizens to know we all remain committed to the mission of serving and protecting the community and the state of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office is good.

Recently the Sheriff’s Office had our annual Christmas Banquet and service awards. We had in our presence, two distinguished guests: Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson; and our keynote speaker, the President of the National Sheriff’s Association, Sheriff Harold Eavenson from Rockwall County, Texas. Awards were presented to members of our office which ranged from innovative ideas that improved the efficiency of the Sheriff’s office, to implementing processes which reduced significant operational cost. Additionally, a Lifesaving award was presented for a deputy’s actions that directly saved a human life.

Often, the members of our Sheriff’s Office think they are normal; they are not normal- and the things they do are not status quo—— our members and their actions reveal that they are all exceptionally brave individuals. We are fortunate to have these brave men and women who are protecting and serving Christian County.

This year I would like to give special thanks to our volunteers. These volunteers donate their time, while often having full-time jobs, and somehow they manage to donate countless hours of service to our community. Our volunteers fill vital roles supporting the mission of the Sheriff’s Office. These areas include our Patrol Division, Chaplain program, and other important programs which make our community better. This volunteer spirit continues to grow; as demonstrated by the graduates from our inaugural Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy. This year the alumni returned to the Sheriff’s Office and volunteered their time to make the second annual Academy a success.

I encourage everyone to help keep our roadways safe for those traveling in and through our county. Please, buckle up and remember to drink responsibly. As deputies will be out enforcing traffic laws to ensure the safe travels of all motorists, should you encounter an unsafe driver, please report it.

On behalf of everyone at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and may God bless you all!

Sincerely,

Brad Cole

Sheriff of Christan County
