2018 Youth Academy

2018 Youth Academy

Jan 16, 2018

The Sheriff’s Youth Academy is conducted by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.  It is a free course designed to familiarize young individuals with various aspects of community law enforcement.  The Academy focuses on administrative philosophy, internal policies and guiding principles of law and ethical conduct governing the delivery of police services in our community.  The Academy is designed to engage the children in real-world scenarios and instruction on the different roles a law enforcement official can be faced with.  It also allows them to see how the Deputies fulfill the mission every day without the glitz and glamour provided by Hollywood stars and special effects.

The Academy’s team of instructors is made up of actual Deputies and other specialized law enforcement personnel who provide in-depth discussions and demonstrations about their individual areas of expertise.  The Academy curriculum retains all of the core elements essential for citizens to gain a better understanding of police operations.  As a result of their participation, citizens are able to make more informed judgments about their Sheriff’s Office and its daily operations.  The Sheriff’s Office also benefits from the Academy because it allows us to gain a better understanding of the views and concerns of our young people.

Christmas Message from Sheriff Cole

Christmas Message from Sheriff Cole

Dec 22, 2017

As 2017 is coming to an end, I want the citizens to know we all remain committed to the mission of serving and protecting the community and the state of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office is good.

Recently the Sheriff’s Office had our annual Christmas Banquet and service awards. We had in our presence, two distinguished guests: Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Parson; and our keynote speaker, the President of the National Sheriff’s Association, Sheriff Harold Eavenson from Rockwall County, Texas. Awards were presented to members of our office which ranged from innovative ideas that improved the efficiency of the Sheriff’s office, to implementing processes which reduced significant operational cost. Additionally, a Lifesaving award was presented for a deputy’s actions that directly saved a human life.

Often, the members of our Sheriff’s Office think they are normal; they are not normal- and the things they do are not status quo—— our members and their actions reveal that they are all exceptionally brave individuals. We are fortunate to have these brave men and women who are protecting and serving Christian County.

This year I would like to give special thanks to our volunteers. These volunteers donate their time, while often having full-time jobs, and somehow they manage to donate countless hours of service to our community. Our volunteers fill vital roles supporting the mission of the Sheriff’s Office. These areas include our Patrol Division, Chaplain program, and other important programs which make our community better. This volunteer spirit continues to grow; as demonstrated by the graduates from our inaugural Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy. This year the alumni returned to the Sheriff’s Office and volunteered their time to make the second annual Academy a success.

I encourage everyone to help keep our roadways safe for those traveling in and through our county. Please, buckle up and remember to drink responsibly. As deputies will be out enforcing traffic laws to ensure the safe travels of all motorists, should you encounter an unsafe driver, please report it.

On behalf of everyone at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and may God bless you all!

Jun 20, 2017

Christian County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a tremendous thank you to all of those who sponsored holes, provided prizes, donated items for the silent auction, entered teams, and volunteered. The 2nd Annual CCSO D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament held at Island Green Golf Course has again been able to provide enough to fund the D.A.R.E. program in Christian County (Five School Districts) for another calendar year.

In the coming months, we’ll begin planning for next year’s tournament. We hope you will be part of its success as well.
